Blood and Donuts - Deep Midnight Perfumes

Details:
Blood & Donuts
Deep Midnight Perfumes

Notes:
Dark Egyptian amber and gaharu wood, well blended and served with creamy vanilla, cinnamon spice, rich chocolate, and a splash of turkish coffee. It's.... to die for.

In the vial I smell chocolate and vanilla. Once applied it’s spicy vanilla coffee. I don’t drink chai, but I imagine this is what it smells like (although is chai coffee? I’m not sure it is...). The synthetic note that a few of the Deep Midnight perfumes doesn’t show up in this one. The dry down starts as a fairly strong amber, which goes a little dusty for a while, then mellows to a slightly spicy vanilla amber. Sillage is low to medium – I caught a whiff of it now and then when I moved my arm but I wasn’t aware of it otherwise. Longevity is medium – about 5-6 hours.

Rating:
2/5 It has all the notes I like but it doesn’t really do anything for me.

Day 46!

  1. Yay! A Dee review!!! I'm so glad you're back :D Though I am so hungry, all I can think of when I see this scent title is a very Homer Simpson-esqe "Mmm, donuts." haha! The perfume itself doesn't seem like something I'd particularly enjoy.

    1. I am back! Catching up slowly - it's been one thing after another lately but I think it's mostly settled and the weather is finally about to get reasonable (touch wood).

  2. Chai is normally creamy spice tea, but there is probably chai coffee to be found too. This sounds pleasant, but not really my thing, love the name though!

    1. I really only bought it for the name - I had to find out what something called Blood and Donuts smelled like. ;-)

  3. Hehe! Being a good Canadian I have seen the movie "Blood and Donuts"! This is one of my favourites from Deep Midnight. The oud really comes out on me in this one. Plus I laughed at the descripton...the movie is about a vampire who hangs out at a coffee shop. A wee bit silly, but I admit to being a fan of vampire movies.
