Perpetual Orgasm - Possets

Details:
Perpetual Orgasm
Possets Perfume

Notes:
The divine honey which the bees make on the dry and craggy plains is the starting point for such a melting blend. Malta is an arid country and the non populated expanses are covered with tough aromatic growth which needs little rainfall. It is in that hard herbal mat that the bees wrestle the tiniest drops of nectar out of sparse light blue flowers and somehow manage to manufacture honey of such brilliance it’s almost as if the sun was captured and liquefied. Added to this is a shard of sharp lemon zest and the smooth modification of orange, both citrus which can be found in abundance in the Mediterranean, and which naturally compliment Maltese honey, and you will have found a paradise in a bottle.

So apparently a perpetual orgasm smells like orange sherbet. There is a dab of lemon, and something a bit.. not minty but kind of icy that just wafts through every now and then. It's bugging me no end what that is actually - it's right on the tip of my tongue but I just can't... quite... get it. AGH! I'm not a big fan of citrus scents generally, but there's a sweet edge to this from the honey that makes it much more palatable to me. I like it a lot. It really is just basically sherbet though. Who knew that's what an orgasm smells like? Sillage is quite high at first but mellows after 30 minutes or so. Longevity is good - 8 hours or so.

Rating:
4/5... and what the heck is that note?

Day 141!

    1. No, similar vibe but doesn't have the minty kind of smell to it that menthol has.

  2. I wish I could help you with that note but I can't figure out what it is.
It's definitely the light blue flower part of the fragrance. Bluebell or hyacinth.I have smelt it in other posset perfumes for sure.

Anyway this is in my bottle list, very well made!

    1. Ah, so you know what I mean then! It just kind of comes and goes and if you waft your wrist past your nose you just fleetingly catch it. It's so frustrating to pin down!

  3. According to my nuna, the only blue flower that that she remembers from malta is the Pimpernel.

    1. Interesting! I wonder if we have any of those here - I'd be interested to smell it and compare.

  4. Is sherbet purely fruity or is it a dairy-type sorbet? I found confusing information when I looked it up. I would have thought this might be too sweet but the citrus probably saves the day - I'm the opposite of you: lemon GOOD :-)

    1. To me it's fruity, not dairy. Though a spider (as in the drink) probably has a sherbety smell and that's dairy. Hmmm.

  5. I thought when I ordered this it would be a keeper for me, but it was just okay, pretty, but nothing special on me. I was a bit sad as I thought this one going to be the one from Possets that would be my favourite, plus the name, the name! I think it is MAry Shelley from Possets I like best.

    1. I think I'm going to get a full bottle. I love that Possets has free worldwide shipping over $50 so I can buy a few full bottles without breaking the bank.
