Lady Victoria - Poison Apple Apothecary

Details:
Lady Victoria
Poison Apple Potions

Notes:
An embodiment of the Victorian Gothic era. A lady in all outward appearances, but there may be something darker lurking underneath…. Jasmine and Vanilla laid gently upon an enigmatic veil of musk.

This is one of my favourite perfumes and I don't wear it often enough. After deciding that I'm going to use my 'spesh' things instead of just buying them and hoarding them away, I pulled this out for a go around the block. There's nothing really complex about it - it's pretty much exactly as described. In the bottle and applied it's a gorgeous, lush blend of jasmine and vanilla. The musk comes out in the dry down and it lasts for hours. The sillage is medium. If you dab a smidge on your wrists it sits fairly close to the skin, but if you slather it on it does have a bit of throw.

Edit: I just realised that this smells quite similar to Solstice Scents Nightgown, so if you like the sound of this one, then that's worth checking out.

  1. Sometimes, I stash away my favorite scents for special occasion... I hate this attitude and I want to start wearing my favorite scents more often.

I love Nightgown from SS. Vanilla and jasmine is one of my favorite combos.

maybe, I will check Posion apple next month because I shopped way too much in January. I am waiting a Twyla order too!!!!!

    1. I'm on a No Buy now so I'm going to try very hard not to look at any perfume shops at all for a while!

And I'm definitely pulling out my favourites and wearing them now, and I'm really enjoying them. :-)

  2. Hmmm... not very fond of jasmine anymore, but this still sounds lovely!

    1. It really is. Jasmine can be a bit overpowering sometimes, but this one is nicely balanced.

  3. This sounds gorgeous, Dee! I got a sample of Nightgown with my last Solstice Scents order, and I like it. Scents like this are perfect for this time of year! Though I tend to wear any scent any given time of year, hehe!

    1. Haha, we are having the opposite season to you and I'm still slathering Nightgown, so I agree!

  4. I've never tested a Poison Apple scent that I didn't like! I haven't tried this though. I'll include Nightgown in my next SS order. Love creamy florals <3

  6. I LOVE Solstice Scents...my favorite perfumer if I have to list one as the top. But I am not a fan of Nightgown...just not my style, so I probably would not try this one.

I've had rotten luck with PAA in general, nothing tempts me enough for a full bottle. All the samples were nice, but nothing unusual.
